Description

Fencing bouts in the modern pentathlon event during the 1936 Olympic Games, held at the Tennisplatz (Tennis Courts) of the Reichssportfeldes (now Olympiapark Berlin). While the fencing portion of the modern pentathlon is documented to have occurred at the Haus des Deutschen Sports, the names of Finnish pentathletes Ukko Hietala, Lauri Kettunen, and Aaro Kiviperä can be identified on the right-side scoreboard (listed from top to bottom). Left-side scoreboard possibly lists (from top to bottom) the competitors from Brazil: Guilherme Catramby Filho, Rui Duarte, and Anísio da Rocha.
