Description
Swedish fencing sabre made by E. Svalling in Eskilstuna, Sweden. Guard is reinforced with rolled edges and with a riveted support along the center that also forms a small upper quillion. Grip is ribbed, wrapped in black leather and has a steel backstrap along the spine. Blade is marked "E. Svalling" and "Eskilstuna" on the ricasso.

Blade thickness 7.18 x 36.14 mm at guard, 4.75 x 18.20 mm at strong, 3.25 x 15.26 mm at middle, 2.47 x 13.56 mm at weak, 2.26 x 11.05 mm at point.
No blade curvature.
Hilt 15.7 cm total length.
Guard 12.9 x 15.2 cm (including rolled top & knucklebow), 4.10 mm thick material (rolled), 6.8 cm between knucklebow and grip.
Grip 14.5 cm total length, 12.3 cm visible leather, 18.76 x 33.44 mm thick at middle.
Point of balance 5.3 cm from guard.
Weight 898 grams.
