French foil featuring a square guard, cord-wrapped grip, brass ferrules, and conical pommel. The design of the square guard often credited to French fencing master Merignac. "Made in France" and "5" (indicating the blade's length" marked on the blade's forte. Leather pad replaced by the current owner. Peened construction.
